Grandmothers” is a series created by Polish artist Magda KUCA and inspired by ethnological investigation. In order to make portraits of her grandmother, she used objects made by herself, based on Slavic rituals and customs. Magda KUCA used the old technique of collodion, strengthening the link between her artistic approach and ethnological heritage.

About the artist

Magda KUCA is born in 1993 in Poland. Currently studying photography in Poznan, Poland. She is mostly interested in alternative photographic techniques. Magda KUCA was the subject of several exhibitions: in 2013 at the International Festival of Photography in Lodz and the German-Polish festival Labyrinth.
